Exploring the Evolution – Creationism Controversy

Many people toil over the debate between evolution and creation. Extreme fundamentalists reject the findings of modern science altogether. And too many people wish to believe in the Bible but find it difficult when confronted by apparent conflicts in science. Tragically, people are left with a belief in a universe of chance: a reality of colliding molecules without purpose or design, but at least free from the superstitious and nonsensical creation account in Genesis.

Caught inbetween this fracas, moderates point out this low view of Genesis arises from a mistaken belief that the Bible contradicts modern science....

Welcome to Our New Xenos eZine

X" stands for Xenos, which means "The Stranger." Strange, eh? Indeed it is, and it's a new eZine to inform, engage and entertain its college-age audience about Christianity and other controversial topics. We address real-life issues from a research perspective, and we hope to incite thought and discussion'' about the information in our articles. We make every effort to provide objective and fair treatment of the issues.

We also wish to invite seekers looking for an engaged, friendly atmosphere to join us at our Campus Bible Study. If nothing else, it's worth a visit to see why the CBS is not your typical Christian group - it's a place for thinkers who are not easily pigeonholed by mass media stereotypes of “dumb Christian rednecks.”

Smoke twists and winds from glowing cigarette tips past the heads of chattering college students as curse words and loud jokes escape their lips in a cloud of laughter. As one student sucks the last bit of smoldering tar and tobacco from the rolled nub pressed between his index finger and thumb into his lungs he says, "OK guys, let's pray."

Walking onto campus was not anything new. Walking onto campus for our first on-campus bible teaching was so new I had the first day of school butterflies. Each person I walked by or saw walking I was wondering - really, hoping - I would see them in room 204 at the Student Center. There I knew awaited a struggle.
